The amazing variety of classic cars that we have here on the Isle of Wight is definitely something to celebrate. During this coronavirus lockdown, there’s been a chance to reflect a very busy year in 2019 here at Wight Classics.

Almost all of the classic cars that we work on were produced before 1980. Although we are now seeing many more recent, modern classics too. We don’t rely on modern diagnostics equipment, if the car can ‘think for itself’ it’s probably not for us. In fact, last year saw a large number of pre-War classics which are always a treat to work. Even if it doesn’t always feel like it at the time. Cars that are approaching 100 years of age inevitably have their fair share of surprises.

1950s and 1960s classic cars at Wight Classics

Here are the images that we recently shared on our Instagram and Facebook pages and provide a good overview of the diversity of Isle of Wight classic cars that we see. It’s a just a selection and they are loosely arranged into: pre-War, 1950s & 60s and the 1970s, although as you can see we managed to put a couple in the wrong groups! There’s a 1960s Porsche 912 in the 1970s bunch and 1970s E-Type Jaguar in with the 1960 cars, (the number plates give them away), but they ok where they are so not to worry.
